Le Collectif France Tricot: Les Tricopathes

cftDid you read in yesterday’s New York Times about going to a meet up of the Parisian knitting collective called Les Tricopathes? The group takes its name from the French “tricot” for knitting and “psychopath,” and is the brainchild of Emmanuelle Esther, Céline Lacome-Hulin and Solene Couturier. The group seems to be part Stitch’N Bitch, part yarnbombers. Under the name Le Collectif France Tricot (CFT), Esther, Lacome-Hulin and Couturier have just published a book, CFT, (see above) about what the Times calls “their poetic vandalism.” Wish I read French!

(Thanks to Cassandra for pointing me to this story… international yarnbombing, how great!)
